Define: A Local Hire
An important tool in building credits and $$$!
Welcome to 21st Century Hollywood – A Webinar Series presented by Kevin E. West. Through the years of The Actors’ Network studio membership existence, Kevin E. West, has spent a great deal of time and effort discussing both the legal, professional and value aspects of this career tool. While the concept is applicable to all projects the truth of the matter is that 99% of the time this is typically only implored by the “powers that be” for studio feature films and “legit” Indie films. It doesn’t mean that television never does it but it is far more rare simply because they have less time to process the admin paperwork and details to have a local hire actor on set. From a career stand point it is a terrific option if you have a studio film coming to your state or city in terms of “getting a shot” at an audition and perhaps just getting 1-line in the final cut of a studio feature. It can be a nice long run for residuals and a terrific chance to get important “on set” experience with the big boys both in terms of the stars and the director as well.
