Sometimes getting discouraged is a-okay.

What?  I know what you’re thinking… being discouraged is ok and not counterproductive?  Well, IF and only IF you utilize that frustration to create something out of it.

Here’s my story…

Just the other day I was reading the trades and was smacked in the face with news that a person (who got a pretty big hosting job) not only had never hosted anything before, but they’re not even the expert they are being “sold” as.

Enter frustration.

How many times have you been vetoed from a job simply because you’re not a trained this, or a certified that?  If you’re like me, too many times to count…. And yet, THIS person gets cast when they’re a total neophyte?!  WTF?

When I read that this host had gotten the coveted job without genuinely having the TV skills or the professional skills, I threw in my towel, for the day.  I said, I’m done; I can’t keep banging my head against the wall.

So, I took my dog for a hike.

Mind you, normally, I’m not the gal to goof off mid-day, but this day seemed warranted.  After some fresh air, kvetching and an iced tea, I was over the aggravation and came to this conclusion.

Frustration can be a good thing if you allow it to feed you to action.  If you allow it to take you down, obviously that’s NOT a good thing.  Today, I hit it hard and yesterday’s news is a thing of the passed.  And, actually I’m utilizing the news of that crappy casting as proof that there is no reason we can’t be cast, too.  Hell, if THAT person got cast, surely you and I are cast-able, too!
